Work From Home & Parenting - It's All About Creating Fun & Freedom To Travel The World With Loved Ones

Retirement plan- some food for thought

Talking about retirement plan, as most of us are aware…

We have to work out the budget and expenses required during retirement. Thus it’s necessary to consider your desired lifestyle after retired.

For instance, you may wish to…

> own a cozy house with garden for gardening;

> travel the world with your partners;

> carry out your hobby,

> exercise; or

> do something that you do not have the chance to experience while working.

How much do you require to have that kind of lifestyle? How much retirement fund you will have by that time?

The difference or shortfall is the fund that you need to make up, maybe with capital gain or investment.

Other than that, you need to think about unforeseen circumstances, emergency or disease that might eat up your retirement fund. That’s the reason why well prepared is vital for your comfortable retirement life.

Knowing that, some food for thought…

Is your saving or retirement plan and earning sufficient to fulfill your financial goal?

If not, it’s time now to look for a sustainable, viable and legit investment plan to grow your existing saving and reach your financial goal for retirement.

Many people said: Should save money to enjoy during retirement.

The problem is you are ageing when retire, and probably your health is not allowing you to travel as you wish to.

Other than that, the saving for retirement fund might turn into education fund due to inflation, capital for your kids for business or even wedding fund. How much will be left by that time?

Hence, treat yourself well while you can afford to, at the same time plan well for retirement. Ageing and deteriorating health are the main factors that you might not able to carry out activities that you wish to.

A valuable advice that I’d encounter if you agree … educate our children to be independent after graduated. Educate them to find their way out for further studies, source for business capital and even wedding fund instead of relying on you.

The main point is live for ourselves also instead of purely live to support our children.

Poverty mindset that hinders you to succeed in work from home journey

Are you thinking of starting your home business?

Looking around and searching for the perfect business that won’t fail?

Maybe you had your best ideas in mind, maybe someone had shared with you a business opportunity that you think not too bad, but you hesitate to take action.

Poverty mindset that hinder you to succeed in work from home journey

Have you ever heard what Jack Ma, Alibaba group’s founder had said about entrepreneurs to-be that have poverty mindset?

poverty mindset

The worst people to serve are the Poor people.

Give them free, they think it’s a trap.

Tell them it’s a small investment, they’ll say can’t earn much.

Tell them to come in big, they’ll say no money.

Tell them try new things, they’ll say no experience.

Tell them it’s traditional business, they’ll say hard to do.

Tell them it’s a new business model, they’ll say it’s Multi Level Marketing.

Tell them to run a shop, they’ll say no freedom.

Tell them run new business, they’ll say no expertise.

They do have some things in common:

They love to ask google, listen to friends who are as hopeless as them,

they think more than an university professor and do less than a blind man.

Just ask them, what can they do. They won’t be able to answer you.

My conclusion: Instead of your heart beats faster, why not you just act faster a bit;

instead of just thinking about it, why not do something about it.

Poor people fail because of one common behavior: Their Whole Life is About Waiting.”

Some times you just have to trust your gut feeling and act on it, after done your due research.

The bottom line is what’s the bad thing that will happen to you if you do something about your dream? Will you bankrupt?

Why not think about it positively? What if you succeed?

This is one of the words I’d heard and inspired me, instead of perfecting the ideas and looking at others, why not just act fast grab the opportunity given to me.

It proves that I can make it. So, I’m working towards helping more people to take action in achieving their dream.

Still hesitating…? Work with me. I will be your support and accountable partner.

Best home business for mum

What’s the best home business for mum, busy mum like you and me, and why?

Continue from Part 1, which I talked about NST featured work at home mum

Part 2

what's the best home business for mum

What do I do? and why?

Since I’d many ideas of running online and offline home business, many are wondering what do I do then.

Why I choose the particular home business out of the many suggestions in my Work At Home Mum Ebook?

Well… over the years, I’d tried and surveyed many work from home niche, online and offline.

The reason I work on my freelance job (Quantity Survey) is because it brings decent active income and it’s my passion.

However, no matter how flexible working hour I have, I’m trading time for money. If lazy, then I have no income.

Silly? Everyone works for a living, of course will not get paid if not working, I believe you will think that.

Doing online business? Sounds a dream job for many. I’d even acquired some basic skills on it.

Do you know online business still have to do delivery, keep stock, update quantity and etc, regardless you are producing your own products or obtain stocks from the supplier?

Everything is just like a conventional business, except you save the rental and utilities for brick and mortar shop.

So, what do I looking for?

Passive income

Have you heard about passive income?

I didn’t care about it until I seriously look for a long term home business without headache on logistic, stocks, competition, viability of the products I invested and many more.

best home business for mum for passive income

Everyone said I silly because keep looking for the best home business for mum like you and me, which is…

  1. Low cost low risk
  2. Can operate from home (renting a shop or office will cost a bomb)
  3. No need to produce product or keep stock (that require huge capital and it might burnt if no demand)
  4. No need to deliver or running post office (enough hectic for mum to transport kids)
  5. Less competition, and the best if we are pioneer in the line.
  6. Good profit margin
  7. With repeat customers

> The profit margin is so important for busy mum. Simple calculation, with the same effort and time spent, you prefer to sell a toy with $10 profit or a stroller with $100 profit at similar marketing cost?

> How about repeat sales ? Will the customers come back over and over again to enable you earning from them?

> What about one time initial effort but enable you to earn monthly without the need to service the customer?

Sounds impossible but I found it!

What it is?

You know digital product?

E.g. Ebook, video course, membership website, most of which making the initial effort to fabricate it then you are set to sell it for decade, through your laptop or smartphone.

My Ebook transaction was setting on automation mode online. Means I will get paid if someone decided to buy it even though I was sleeping, because the system will take care of it.

best home business for mum

The problem is… when and how do we, ordinary busy mums have the time and capable of creating many digital products, not to mention the valuable content, skills and experiences required.

Here comes the best home business for mum

Imagine if you have a membership website with valuable product, which peoples will purchase from you and pay you monthly fee to gain access.

The monthly fee is repeat sales profit that generated effortlessly, i.e. passive income.

What do you do if you don’t have the capacity to create the entire system and profitable content sought after by people?

Affiliate with someone who owns it and will guide you to market it!

Why it’s best home business for mum?

Simply because you don’t have to carry along physical products for marketing, your inventory is in your phone or laptop.

Shipping, customer database and payment are all handled online, electronically.

You have the choice to do it in high tech way using App only, or high touch way by meeting people to showcase your awesome website in smartphone, all at your own pace from the comfort of your home or anywhere you like.

What if you are also allowed to build your own affiliate or sales team and get paid weekly from their work?

I assure you I’d found the best home business that fulfills all the criteria mentioned above…!

Cost? It’s so affordable that I’d rather pay for it than cracking my head to create the entire system myself.

Don’t like to sell? Every business including an employee is all about selling. It’s just your decision to sell your resume sell your service and time to your evil employer for a fix income..

Or work for yourself selling your own website for passive income. Hehe… I opt for second option.

I’m a mom of two, a freelancer, a daughter to ageing parent cum diabetes patient, and home business owner. If I can do it, why can’t you?

Wanna work with me?

Get in touch with me if you really want to know if it suit you and how I can help you to do the same, i.e. working from home. 🙂

Work at home mum ‘s Mother’s Day 2017 !

Once in every year, mums will become the focus in every corner of the world and in the news, that’s Mother’s Day!

This year, News Straits Time (NST) is doing a feature on mums who gave up their career by choice for the little ones, but are also working from home, i.e. work at home mum. I was honored to be one of the ‘stars’.

It was such a lovely news this Mother’s Day. Thanks NST and the journalist, Audrey (a lovely mommy journalist) for the article.

Why work from home?

The journey of being a work at home mum started 3,4 years ago. While working full time as a commercial manager, I was lucky to be able to leave office 6pm sharp everyday. However, I was restricted by Mrs. Boss to take leave as I wish to.

Hence, I had a dream, dream that I could have flexible time for my children and ageing parents while being able to earn a living from home.

That’s the dream of most mums, isn’t?

You may be disappointed if you fail. But you are doomed if you don’t try. ~ Beverly Sills

The quote shared by a friends after knowing my dream changed my life. I was so daring to make the decision – quit my full time job after received the message, but of course with my Plan B. Lol…

Start from zero to becoming a work at home mum

Many ideas to earn from home with my skills flow into my mind after decided to be a work at home mum. And I even explored many new fields, new skills and jobs that suit busy mums like me.

Developed my own website, started a work at home mum facebook support group that grows to a thousand plus members now, helping and mingled with like minded mums. Well… just realized I’d done so much from zero while writing these. Huhuuu…

What to do at home after quit full time job?

I actually worked at part time basis in the office with reducing pay and benefit for a year. By the way, that’s a good idea for transition, and I strongly suggest you opt for it if you can.

After a year, I finally quit and started my Quantity Surveying freelance work (check out how I made it with no client base at all here ;), and built up my own home business.

Yes, two careers that allow me to earn at my own pace and I enjoy it very much.

I shared a lot of home and online business ideas that can earn from home for busy mum. Many were asking what do I do then and why I choose it out of the many ideas I’d shared.

What’s my home business and why I fell in love with it? Check out Part 2…. 😉

7 Factors that keep me sustaining breastfeeding

7 Factors that keep me sustaining breastfeeding

Next month is 4 years ‘anniversary’ of my second breastfeeding journey. Hurray!

Can’t imagine I have been a moo moo mum to my big monster for 26 months and to my little monster for 4 years now, yet still keep going. It’s tough but this round i decided to opt for baby-lead weaning.

Looking back, there are indeed lots of tears and hardship to be a successful breastfeed mother. Many friends keep asking how do I sustain for many years. After think long, here are the breastfeeding tips from my own experience to successfully breastfeed.

1. Pre delivery preparation

I have to admit that pre-delivery preparation is important, in terms of knowledge. Absorb whatever breastfeeding tips and information as you can prior to delivery.

Same as most new mums out there, I told myself I want to breastfeed when I was conceiving the 1st time. That’s it, without trying to read and learn the relevant information. I thought breastfeeding is easy and even standby a small tin of formula milk for the “in case”.

Not until my elder girl was born, she sucked then cried forever. End up I resorted to the “technique” of letting her suck then offered formula milk for a month before I learnt and read what a breastfed mum should know.

2. Breastfeeding Friendly Hospital

If you want to breastfeed successfully, choose a breastfeed friendly hospital. The first bonding right after the baby is born is important. Tell the nurses in advance your intention to breastfeed so that they will not offer formula milk to the baby.

I choose to deliver at Putrajaya Hospital during 2nd pregnancy. It’s tough as the baby will be with you all day round but you get to feed on demand.

3. Confinement Lady

This is one of the big obstacles to mums who employ confinement lady as a helper.

I had a bad experience with the first confinement lady, who always complained my breastmilk supply was not enough, baby hungry and etc. I couldn’t forget how I dropped tears in the blanket during midnight with my breast engorged to fullest but my baby was fed with formula milk  by the helper. Yet I dared not to object.

Be sure to choose a breastfeed friendly confinement lady too. Tell her in firm that you want to breastfeed without formula milk allowed. That’s what i did to my 2nd confinement lady who brought the baby to me whenever she cried for milk.

4. Mindset

You think your milk supply not enough? Take the word of a nurse, she told me that she will never believe our breastmilk supply not enough unless the baby tells her. I suddenly “wake up” from my own myth after heard this and threw away the standby formula milk.

That marks my starting point of fully breastfeed my elder girl since 1 month old.

If you are a new mum, set your goal into a series of smaller milestone at 2 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months and etc.

After you get the hang of breastfeeding, it becomes a natural routine.

Set your brain to the concept of

supply = demand

You will have milk supply whenever baby needs it although you just fed 5 minutes ago.

5. Determination

There are too many hardship you have to go through to be a successful breastfed mum.

Stress at work, no time to pump, no suitable place to pump milk, questions posted by busybody, sick, engorgement, block milk duct, mastitis and the list goes on.

Learn to pretend deaf to nonsense comments. Breastfeed or pump the milk regularly no matter how busy how sick you are.

One of my unforgettable experience is bringing the breastpump while admitted hospital. Pump on time although severely diarrhea due to food poisoning.

Without realize, determination and perseverance become the factors for a busy moo moo to continue the journey.

6. Support of Spouse and Family

Communicate with our spouse and family to get the support in our breastfeeding journey.

Direct latch and washing sterilizing bottle and breastpump take up a lot of time. Be firm and confident on what you are doing is right.

Although my family members are supportive, but some of the time i still need to be thick skin pretending deaf whenever they can’t stand to complain what the hell i was doing in the kitchen with the bottle and pump.

7. Mingle with like minded mum for breastfeeding tips

With the convenience of internet and smartphone, there are many informative websites, forums and social media groups related to breastfeeding.

Join the group, discuss, ask questions, get support, get motivation. The more knowledge you gain, the more confident and longer you can sustain breastfeeding.

I don’t know how long i will be a moo moo this time, but looking back… it’s really worth it!

Leave your comment below if you have any other breastfeeding tips or any questions that i can help. Wishing you to be a successful moo moo mummy also 🙂

No matter how, there’s a will, there’s a way….

What’s your best tip ?

Lexis Hibiscus vs Avani Sepang Gold Coast

Lexis Hibiscus or Avani Sepang Gold Coast, which one is better? Many parents were asking about it while deciding their family trip.

I had been to both resorts for family trip as well, here are some comparisons based on my experience.

Lexis Hibiscus

Lexis hibiscus family trip

Since the resort was opened in year 2015, it has became one of the hot spot for vacation, perhaps popular due to the private swimming pool and glass panel on floor to view the marine life.

We went to Lexis Hibiscus resort last year and stayed in Premium Pool Villa, located in the hibiscus petal area. The resort was new and clean.

Same as other guests, we were excited with the in-room swimming pool, steam sauna room and the viewing glass on floor right after checked in the room.

Excited with viewing glass on floor!

Too bad the water underneath wasn’t crystal clear, so there were no marine life as described, a bit disappointed. Huhuu…

Nevertheless, we love the private swimming pool and steam sauna in the balcony.

We don’t need to carry swimming float, toys and etc and walk to public pool like other resorts. Just placed everything besides our own private pool, change in room then could jump into the water!

The best was you are able to enjoy private water fun with family members only without outsider in the same pool…! However, don’t try to swim naked in the pool because other resort room was quite close to each other. Ha…

We spent most of our time in room only since the kids love their own private pool.

View from the balcony

There were two big King bed in room, just nice for four of us. The facilities in the room were modern and clean as well. The resort even invested LED TV built-into full bronze mirror wall.

Other than the nice in-room facilities, you have to pay for the rest of the indoor and outdoor activities provided by the resort, too bad.. The kidz world, karaoke facility, bicycle, and some other water sports were all chargeable.

Avani Sepang Gold Coast

avani sepang gold coast review

We had a short getaway at Avani Sepang Gold Coast just recently. Instead of hibiscus petal, Avani uses the similar concept with the resorts spread along to form the palm tree.

Same as Lexis Hibiscus, the buggies service are available round the clock in resort. My two little monsters were excited with it every time.

avani sepang gold coast review

Overall, the resort looked a bit tire and old as compare to Lexis Hibiscus. Our room was considered clean, the only shortcoming was four of us had to share a King bed.

avani sepang gold coast review
Sunset view from the resort balcony

The kids were having fun in resort although without in-room private pool because they were entertained with many activities.

There’s a public infinity pool located at clubhouse area. Other than that, kid’s play area was providing free movie, coloring and board game. Batik painting, sand art and few other activities were chargeable, but the free activities were enough to make the kids occupied for an hour.

avani sepang gold coast things to do

Morning and evening time were good for beach activities, e.g. building sand castle and walk along the beach. My girls were shouting to see a lot of baby crabs !

Can you see the baby crab!

avani sepang gold coast things to do

Another good thing I like here is there were plenty of bicycles nearby the lobby area. You can just grab it and cycling in the resort.

avani sepang gold coast bicycle

Which is good?

It depends on your expectation. If you like modern resort with private pool, Lexis Hibiscus is a good choice.

If you have lesser budget and don’t mind a moderate resort with similar concept, Avani Sepang Gold Coast could be your cup of tea. They have more variety of activities and a private beach for you to have family fun as well.

No matter whichever resort you are going, family bonding is most important right?! 😉

5 Myths that work at home mom never tell you

Work from home is nearly every mum’s dream.

Yes.. It is great.

  • You will be available whenever you are needed by your child.
  • You earn money yet can take care of the family at home.
  • It’s a perfect work-life balance that every mum is dreaming for.

While everybody is talking about the perk of working from home, is anybody telling you that working from home could be more challenging than working outside of home?

Here are 5 Myths about working from home that probably nobody ever tell you.

Why you need to know about these? Get ready with what to expect will help you to make correct decision to work from home and be prepared for what’s ahead.

#1. Your house will be clean all the time

No matter you are a freelancer, telecommuting, or starting your own small business from home, you are still working. Regardless it is 4 hours or 8 hours a day, your work has to be done during the day.

Instead of spending the time to clean your house, you will have to finish your daily project to-do list.

work from home myths

By the end of the day, you might not have the energy to finish all the house chores. The dishes that used during breakfast might still left in the sink till dinner time. The floor is not shining enough to be your mirror.

#2. You gain plenty of free time at home

baby-215303_1280Yes. Working from home save the hours stuck in the traffic, save the nonsense chit chatting with colleagues in the pantry, meeting and etc.

But don’t forget you will still start work late (after sent your child to school) and end earlier as soon as they get back home from school.

Otherwise, if you have a baby,  he/she is your boss who determines how much time you can work.

Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner also will take up most of your time. So being organised with the time/schedule is the key to success.

#3. Work from home is easy

Ha.. How nice because no boss or superior is telling you what and how to do at what time.  Nobody will restrict your online activity.

So you have to make sure not to spend the first few hours of the day checking other people’s life on facebook and grab the most value for money offer in online shopping.

You have got to be discipline, focus and self-motivated to get the work done.

#4. You are at home so you are not working

Be sure to tell your friends and family that you are actually working at home. Many people have the impression that if you are staying at home, you will have free time to help fetching their kids or ask a favor from you during the day.

Educate them and learn not to volunteer or helping friends in need while you are working.

#5. You no need childcare or helper

Perhaps the pulling factor for you to work from home is you get to spend more time with your child and save on childcare cost.

But depends on what you are doing to make a living from home, there might be occasion that you will need childcare or helper in order to focus and get your work done.

Imagine will you bring your child to office and expect to get the work done as needed?

So before you let go your full time babysitter, it’s good to have a back up childcare plan or even just get your friends or family to help you few hours a day or a week in exchange of quiet time for your work.

Notwithstanding all the myths about working from home, most work from home mums will still telling you that it is doable and rewarding. Practice makes perfect!

Things to do in Perth – Fremantle, Cottesloe beach & Perth Night Market

In this post, I will share the things to do in Fremantle, our journey to Cottesloe Beach and the Perth City night market.

Captain Cook Cruise

There are several options of transports to go to Fremantle, you can either take train, self-drive or cruise.

I pre-booked Perth-Fremantle scenery cruise from TripSpin online booking website, then back to Perth with train, so that my mum could enjoy different scenery view along the journey.

The cruise terminal located at Barrack Street Jetty, just besides another tourist attraction, The Bell Tower. We didn’t have time to visit The Bell Tower but managed to snap a few photos with the tower, pretending I was there. Ha…

Perth Explorer Hop On Hop Off Tram station located at Barrack Street Jetty too. They have many tours available with tram and cruises for tourists to explore Perth. Ticket can be purchased online or on the spot.

By the way, check out Hello Perth website too, as the websites may have some exclusive discount coupons for the tours and even dining.

All right, back to my cruise topic. After boarding the cruise, don’t forget to go to the cruise front deck for the best view of Perth city. Front deck is the best position for selfie and snap the best scenery view of Perth…!

Things to do in Fremantle

Upon arriving Victoria Quay in the Fremantle Harbour, the first thing we saw was E-sheds Market, a weekend market operates on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday only. It’s a good place to hunt your souvenirs with good price, and also fashion and jewellery.

To my surprise, many Malaysians own a shop there, speaking Malays.

After bagged your souvenirs, hop on Fremantle tram just outside the market or catch the free Fremantle CAT bus which will brings you exploring Fremantle.

things to do in fremantle

Our next destination is Fremantle Market, another busy weekend indoor market to hunt for local food, local produces, clothes and handicraft. My mum was eyeing on all the big and fresh fruits and excited to have many free fruits tasting. Lol.

Well, the market wasn’t as big as I thought. We spent an hour there only exploring the local food and handicraft before heading on to Fishing Boat Harbour for the famous fresh seafood lunch.

Oh ya, there’s a Shipwreck Gallery situated opposite the seafood restaurant. We entered the museum with a token of donation at AUD1 only.

things to do in fremantle

Time for the delicious seafood ! There were two famous restaurants there, Kailis Fish Market and Cicerello’s. I opted for Cicerello’s after surveyed online.

things to do in fremantle

This was our most expensive meal in Perth, AUD35.60 per plate of mix grilled and fry seafood…!

fremantle itinerary

After treated our stomach, we departed back to Perth by train. I wanted to explore one of the beautiful beach in Perth on the way back.

If you have time, there are many other things to do in Fremantle in fact, e.g The Round House, WA Maritime Museum, shops in town and etc.

Cottesloe Beach

Departed from Fremantle Train Station, we stopped at Cottesloe Station and walked to the beach.

The hotel concierge told me that the beach just 10 minutes walking distance from the train station. But I was so regret and guilty because I made my mum walked for few kilometers to reach the beach! What an inaccurate information from the concierge!

Well, it was a beautiful beach and you will be enjoying if bring bikini for sun bathing. Hehe…

how to go cottesloe beach

I was worrying no transport back to Perth so didn’t dare to stay long. Quickly hopped on Transperth bus in front of the beach, and took the train at one of the station as train was much faster than bus.

The 2 zone train ticket was valid for 4 hours but I wasted another 10 bucks for the Transperth fare. Anyway, worth it as long my mum didn’t need to walk few more kilometers.

Perth City Night Market

Back to Perth, at last the night was lively because it was Friday! There was an Autumn night market in Central Business District. The CAT bus will be operated slightly late too during the weekend.

things to do in perth night market

Basically the market was international food fiesta. I even spotted Malaysia satay on charcoal stall there!

Guess what was our dinner? Japanese pancake with noodle. Hehe…

My Other Tips

The supplements in Australia are pretty cheap. If you are traveling there, grab some high strength fish oil, honey and etc. I ‘imported’ 7 bottles of fish oil, while saw other travelers luggage full of fish oil, crazy….

My Sweet Bonding Trip With Mum

We gotta packed the luggage the same night to fly back next day. It was such an unforgettable memory traveling with mum, chit chatting in room, browsing the photos together.

You knew, I didn’t subscribed to any mobile roaming and data plan there. The phone was purely for photographing and browsing photos. No distraction checking on messages and facebooking while enjoying the vacation. You want to try…? 😉

The friendly tour guide, Peter fetched us at 8.30am in the morning. By the way, you can check out their website for various central Perth pick up point.

  • Honey – you will be amazed at how many different varieties of honey there are and how different they taste. Coincidentally I had sore throat that day, so I swallowed a lot of honey and Apple Cider Vinegar there. It works wonder. I bought few big bottles of Jarah Honey with TA20+ and Apple Cider Vinegar because it’s pretty cheap there.

On the way back to city, don’t forget to ask the tour guide to drop you at any fruit or vegetable stall along the roadside. The fruits and veggies are very cheap and fresh. We bought a pack of grapes at only AUD1!

Mum wished to buy fresh fruits back to Malaysia but didn’t, we were worried confiscated by custom, end up the custom officers in KLIA2 didn’t check at all. So, you can try your luck if want to bring some back to hometown. Ha…

After Swan Valley food tasting tour, we dropped by Northbridge for lunch because my mum missed Malaysia food so much. Our stomach were full by just sharing a plate of roast duck rice at AUD12.90 only.

Northbridge is another busy district with plenty of Asian restaurants and supermarket, and the best is many shops open at night. Perhaps here’s the only place to enjoy your night life. Hehe…

After lunch, we took blue CAT bus to King’s Park road and walk a few kilometers only realized Transperth bus route 935 travel from the city right into the heart of the park. Sob….

King’s Park is a beautiful park in the city, you just have to visit the park with a relaxing mood instead of expecting exciting activities.

Mum was asking what’s special since it just full of grasses and flowers, but then she started to appreciate the uninterrupted panoramic, birds’ eye views of the Swan River and Perth City after reached there.

Our Second Day…

Caversham Wildlife Park

Sun rise and shine.. My vacation with mum kick started..!

Our first itinerary was Caversham wildlife park, because mum specifically requested to see the kangaroo.

There are two places to see the Kaola bear and Kangaroo in Perth, i.e. get on the ferry to go to Perth Zoo, or go to Caversham wildlife park in Swan Valley.

I decided to go Caversham, because the ticket was inclusive of taking photo with the animals, feeding food, and many good review online.

A few options to go to Caversham wildlife park. You can either book a tour which is inclusive of wildlife park itinerary, self-drive, or using public transport.

However, I found a value for money option, i.e. shuttle van from Explorer Perth Tours. It’s AUD39 only inclusive of AUD28 park ticket !

The driver picked us up from our hotel at 8.30am, and fetch us back to the hotel at 1.30pm, pretty good timing and convenient.

We had ample time to join all the animal shows, took photos with Kaola bear, wombat and other animals and had fun with the lazy kangaroo before the driver fetched us up.

Mum said she felt like a VIP with driver.

Farm show

There were a few daily attractions and shows, i.e. meet the wombat and friends, meet the kaolas, farm show, penguin feeding. Make sure you join all and take the photo for free with your cameras.

Kangaroos are always there waiting for you to feed them with the food provided without time limitation.

Watertown Brand Outlet

Our next destination was Watertown Brand Outlet!

Changed the plan from visiting King’s Park because it was drizzling day. So, you better check out the weather forecast prior to the trip.

After bathed and rest a while, it’s time to take the free CAT bus to the outlet, which was just few minutes away from Travelodge Hotel.

Some said you could get cheap branded fashions there. For me, it wasn’t special since Malaysia has a few similar brands outlet.

Watertown brand outlet is a two storey shopping mall with many branded fashions, food & beverages, bags, pharmacies, shoes and etc. If you are fans of branded stuff, you will be able to grab some cheap branded deals there.

Be early there if you are shopping fans because the outlet opens until 5.30pm only except Friday, close at 9.00pm.

Night Life in Perth

By the way, you will be disappointed if you like night life because most shops close in the evening. The only entertainment at night is drink with friends in a nice cafe or restaurant.

Hence, try to plan and travel there on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as there are more activities and events at night.

Anyway, my mum and I are not night owl, so we love the relaxing life there, sitting on the bench in front of the hotel, chit chatting in the fresh breeze every night. What a sweet bonding time with mum…!
